What's coming

1.1 has been the app for everyone since 5 October, and 1.2 has been in beta since 19 October. Here is what comes next — what is being built, and, clearly set apart, what is only an idea.

Monday 16 November 2026

Version 1.2 becomes the app for everyone. It has been in beta since 19 October, for people signed up to the beta programme: live public tracking, 3 languages, an Android app, by invitation, and an iPhone app, through TestFlight. What it brings, and how to try it →

Being built — decided, not yet finished

2 things are settled and started. They have no date: they will get one once they have run on real races.

🍏 The iPhone app

1.2 also exists as an iPhone app. Like the Android one, it drops pebbles even with the phone locked. It has been in beta since 20 October, through TestFlight, Apple's app for test versions: how to install it →

📣 Cheers come back

1.2 has set aside cheers from the public. They will come back in 1.3, with a way to report a message and block someone. Until 16 November, 1.1 keeps them.

Ideas, not promises

These are noted, not decided. Some will happen, others never will — and I would rather show them to you as they are than draw up a list where everything looks settled. If you genuinely miss one of them, write to me: that is how most of the features in 1.1 came about.

🔢 Scan a barcode when restocking

Point the camera at a product rather than looking it up in the catalogue. The obstacle is real and it is not on my side: no sheet in the catalogue carries a barcode, and Safari on iPhone has no built-in reader.

☀️ A light theme, for the runner too

The crew, the public and the Cupboard already turn light when your phone is set that way. The runner screen stays dark: it is designed for the night and for the battery. In full midday sun, that is another matter.

What I do not promise

This page separates 3 things, and the shape says so before the words do: what is done and tried carries a date; what is being built has none; what is only an idea fits on one line. An idea that has not yet run on a real race will not move up a rung — it is the only way a date means anything.

1.1 went down that road, and 1.2 is going down it now: tried first by a few, on their own races, before being opened to everyone. The next versions will do the same — a tracking app that gets it wrong during a race is worse than an app that is missing.

Cailloux stays free, with no advertising and no selling of data. The professional accounts too.
